Hidden Valley Ranch Seasoning can be used in a lot of ways. Add this homemade ranch seasoning mix to a little Greek yogurt or a cup of sour cream for the most amazing veggie dip you’ll ever have.

With the perfect blend of herbs and spices, this dry ranch seasoning is the equivalent in flavor to the hidden valley original ranch seasoning recipe.

This recipe also makes the best homemade ranch. Just add some fresh buttermilk and its the perfect salad dressing. After, making a dressing, you can chill for 30 minutes to thicken.

Most importantly, this all happened out of a mistake I made. I was in the kitchen cooking away, and I go to reach for a packet of the ranch.

On the menu was Crack Chicken Soup but to my surprise, I didn't have any, ranch seasoning packets. My food was simmering away, and I knew I didn't have time to run to the store to buy a ranch.

I hopped online after and grabbed a ranch seasoning recipe tweaked it to add what I thought it needed, and to my amazement, it all tasted amazing!

I found the homemade version takes not even five minutes to make, and you will have enough for a handful of times using it. Store in an air-tight container and you will be good to go.

Firstly, you need is a few ingredients, most of which you will find on your spice rack. Certainly, I thought I would have a hard time finding dried buttermilk, but nope I found it right at my local Walmart. But, once I had all the ingredients I whipped it up, and got to cooking!

Alternatively, mix with a cup of milk or buttermilk. Then pour over salad greens with a squeeze of lemon juice.

Also, you can mix with yogurt or sour cream to make the flavorful hidden valley ranch dip. I bet you could even make up your own hidden valley ranch recipes.

What is ranch seasoning made of?

  • powdered buttermilk
  • dried dill weed
  • dried chives

All of which you can get right at the grocery store. Add the right amount of ranch flavor to all of my favorite dishes! It's amazing to use inCrack Chickenrecipes or even to make a homemade ranch dressing mix!

How much seasoning is in a packet of Hidden Valley Ranch?

All you need is3 tablespoons of this seasoning to equal 1 of the hidden valley ranch seasoning mix packets. Plus the recipe yields 12 ounces or about 5 ranch packets. A total money saver if you ask me, and I'm sure it is much healthier this way.

How long does ranch mix last?

You can store this mix in your fridge for about a month, make sure it is in an airtight container. I like to use a mason jar, but mine never lasts that long, I use it in everything, potatoes, mac and cheese and so much more.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cup powdered buttermilk
  • ⅓ cup dried parsley
  • 1 tbs. dried dill weed
  • 1 tbs. dried chives
  • 1 tbs. garlic powder
  • 1 tbs. onion powder
  • 1 tsp. ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp. salt
